I’ve always appreciated the challenge of making people passionate about languages and able to convey information, feelings and meaning across them.
I spent reasonably long periods of time in the USA between 2008 and 2012 for tourism and to fine-tune my English, and have been living and working as a linguist in São Paulo, Brazil for five and a half years. I earned a MA's degree in Modern European Languages, Cultures, and Literatures from the University of Naples Federico II (Italy) and a CELTA certificate from St. Giles International, Brighton (UK). I’ve been a teacher for about 12 years and had the opportunity to work with students of all ages, levels, and needs.
I first of all try to figure out what the students are passionate about and/or what they need to learn the language for, that way I can make sure the approach and class content are tailor-made and class time is optimized.
I also find that students tend to feel really comfortable around me, which is definitely a plus when trying to create a safe and fertile learning environment.
